You never know what others are truly going through, so why not take the initiative and
perform acts of kindness on a regular basis?
These acts can only help bring positive vibes to the recipient, and that will carry
over into their day as well.
The likelihood of that an act of kindness being passed on is quite high,
and your one good deed can indeed have a ripple effect with a lot of people.
In fact, the recipient of the act of kindness is not the only one to benefits.
You will also reap the reward. Because doing good things for others benefits the person
who does the nice act. This is a super way to improve mental health,
as well as a way to get out of your own "woes" and "wounds".
Here are some great ideas to get you started doing an act of kindness.
Try any or all of these and you also will be giving yourself a gift.
Send A Real Thank You Note
When someone does something that warrants a thank you, instead of thanking them in
person or via email, take the time to get a nice card and write your thanks.
In our modern digital society, getting handwritten cards isn't as commonplace as it used to be,
and it will make an impression that you took the time to write down and mail your appreciation.
This is a great way to acknowledge someone who has done something really nice or good.
Pay For Someone's Order Or Toll
If you are going through a drive-thru window at a restaurant, tell the cashier that you would like
to pay for the order of the person behind you. It will be such a surprise and it will likely make that person's day. You can also do this at a toll booth. Who knows, maybe that person will also pass
on the favor and pay for the order of the car behind them!
Take A Batch Of Cookies To A Neighbor
All too often we get caught up in our daily lives and forget about everyone else around us.
This goes for neighbors that we might not see every day. If you have a neighbor that you'd like to get to know better, why not whip up a batch of cookies and take it over to them?
You can of course switch the cookies to something else if you think something else would be more appropriate. Surprising your neighbor with a small gift is a genuinely nice thing to do.
Tell Your Parents That You Love Them
No matter how young or old, parents love to hear from their kids, and especially when these
calls come for no reason except to show appreciation. Parents work hard to give their kids everything they can, so turn the tables and show your appreciation.
They will love it!
Donate To Charity Drives
There are many people in need of food, clothing and shelter.
These are the basics that no one should have to go without.
If you have something extra to give, why not? Donate to food drives, coat or
clothing drives or give your time to various organizations that help the homeless.
Helping give others the basic necessities of life is a great thing to do and you will feel better for it.
Try supporting your health by caring, play with these small acts of kindness, see the transformation.
